Secluded, very private, authentic and calm. Elisa and Guillaume’s place is a haven, with the entire grounds inviting one into relaxation and slow, conscious living. Beautiful room with natural materials, big comfy bed and private terrace. Great food - prepared at the house. We felt no need at all to leave the grounds during our stay, everything we needed was right there, which meant we were able to relax fully. If you want to be a bit more active the hosts give great recommendations for lots of activities in the area.

I simply don’t have a single criticism of our stay. Most importantly, the hosts (Guillaume & Elisa) are simply the most welcoming people you could hope to meet. The hotel is incredibly secluded yet has everything you could need. The rooms are comfortable with effective air con and the views and countryside are amazing. Most importantly though, the home cooked food is worth a trip for that alone - when you are offered dinner, say yes…

We crossed Mexico for our honeymoon and Galopina was the highlight. We stayed 4 nights and loved every minute, the owner’s hospitality, the attentive service, the delicious food, and that magical forest setting. Truly a gem. We left already planning our return. Highly recommend

Galopina is a wonderful small hotel, beautifully designed with luxurious rooms that perch in the tropical forest. We felt so well looked after and loved both eating dinner by a small bonfire in the evening as well as relaxing by the pool. Everyone is really friendly and we also appreciated the way we were given lots of advice on trips out and taxis fixed for us.

Galopina has been the highlight of our three week Mexico trip. This gem of interior design is nestled in a beautiful tranquil garden away from the bustling sounds of the city. Elisa’s and Guillaume’s kindness and excellent fresh cooking made us feel at home instantly. Thanks to their valuable recommendations we were able to truly explore Mexico off the beaten path, swimming alone in a remote Cenote in the jungle, admiring the Maya ruins of Uxmal almost by ourselves and star gazing in the midst of Galopina’s garden. Galopina also provided for the perfect location when exploring classic destinations such as Merida and Valladolid as well. Thank you for a perfect time, we could not recommend staying here more! It really is a dream!

Had an absolutely amazing stay at Galopina for 3 nights. The property is gorgeous and very peaceful within the jungle setting. We stayed in the Chel room which had its own balcony which was great for birdwatching at sunrise. The pool was also the perfect size for a dip and we spent much of our time there in the mornings and afternoons with the walls providing the right amount of shade. Breakfast was simple but fresh and tasty and the dinners were amazing! They really tasted like you were over at a friend's house for a dinner party and it was so refreshing having such delicious yet wholesome meals after a long trip. The whole team were so friendly and the dogs and cats were so cute. We will miss them greeting us every morning! The hotel is about an hour out of Merida so it's a bit of a trip to get back into town but there's activities that can be arranged nearby (cenotes, ruins, architecture tours) and honestly, we didn't even want to leave the place because it was so perfect and felt like heaven. Elisa helped arrange transport from Merida for us and to Plantel Matilde which was much appreciated. Already planning our next stay and next time we will be staying for much longer. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a quiet, relaxing holiday with warm hospitality. Our favourite hotel experience for sure!

Tucked away in the jungle, Galopina creates an unprecedented sanctuary. It is an incredibly beautiful place, both in terms of architecture and surrounding nature. The rooms were spacious, the atmosphere serene, the food incredible and the team was so welcoming and supportive; the breakfasts were also the best we had in two weeks travelling the country. We toured Mexico for 2 weeks for our honeymoon and this was without question the most romantic and altogether best stop.

What a special place! Definitely not your usual hotel - it’s a small, boutique gem that truly feels like a home away from home. Everything is beautifully designed with so much attention to detail. The rooms are stunning and you can really feel the thought and care that went into them. The food is excellent (don’t miss dinner - it’s amazing!). Elisa, the owner, is wonderful ! She helped us with everything and gave us great tips things to do and eat in the area. Highly recommended! Really hope we’ll be back soon.
